With more than six years of partnership between Whitworth Honors students and a representative of the Spokane Tribe, we have crafted a now-adopted land acknowledgement statement, assessed campus spaces that might be designated for Native students, and developed public awareness campaigns around the privatization of the Little Spokane River. With support from an Americorps position this year, we are currently developing curriculum for community partnerships across campus and exploring truth and reconciliation projects.
